What is Rostrum?
Members develop their public speaking, presentation and communication skills in a safe, supportive and friendly environment, progressing at their own pace. They begin with simple introductory exercises, the Personal Development Program, and progress to more challenging tasks through a structured development program, the Intermediate Development Program and finally for the very experienced member, the Advanced Development Program.
After each exercise, feedback is given by an Accredited Rostrum WA Critic who is trained to build public speaking skill and confidence among members of the club.
How can Club 15 help me?
Club 15 is a very strong club with a wide variety of members and levels of experience. This means that we have very experienced public speakers to assist new members including several accredited critics plus many newer members so that new members will feel welcome as they progress and develop their public speaking skills.
Rostrum Club 15 has won the Rostrum WA's Club of Excellence Award six times in seven years, from 2004 to 2008 and then again in 2010, an achievement we are proud of. We provide a safe, interesting and supportive environment in which members develop their confidence and public speaking skills. We hold an ever varying and wide variety of exercises to maintain our members' interest and to continue to challenge the more experienced members.
Further, for those members who wish to extend themselves that bit more, we host two annual state public speaking events, ANZAC Day Great Debate; in recognition of the sacrifices that Australian Service Men and Women have made for all Australians; and the Tall Stories Competition.
